This is the Leader's station in another single subject experiment. Here there are no simulated subordinates and the Leader is responsible for investigating the characteristics in addition to making the threat assessment.

It is part of a series of experiments that includes a two subject protocol as well. In this, each has five characteristics, but the subordinate does not have access to the threat setting control. Here, they each evaluate their information, discuss their assessment over a taped communication channel, and then the Leader enters a single threat value. This is an example of an experiment with a balanced workload and reduced hierarchy.
