The JAVA Dispatcher
Running Workstation View
The Dispatcher runs on subject workstations and is invisible except during start
up. It is represented on the Experimenter's Console as shown above. This representation
is called the workstation view. It is decorated with identification information
including the subject's name and location.
The workstation view presents a scrollable, tabular view of the upcoming schedule of
tasks. This is adjusted each time a new task is started on the work station.
The image of the PC and monitor uses text and colour to indicate the status of the task
that is currently active. Status information for each Dispatcher is shown graphically
on the Console toolbar.
The experimenter can control the Dispatcher by
operating on the VCR control to the left of the PC and can also
change the status of upcoming tasks by manipulating the
schedule.
